Letting Go One Day A Week.

June 7, 2008 by Adam Simeonidis

After reading The Brain of Wade blog, I have gotten inspiration to let go of something that takes up to much of my time a week.

Thats right the Internet.

Why the hell are you doing that Adam?

After reading Wades blog, it occurred to me that I spend at least 5+ hours a day (thats 35 hours a week!) sitting in front of my iMac either looking at blogs, mucking around with my blog, refreshing Facebook every 30 minutes and reading/searching Karate or Buddhism related articles.

Not saying that doing that stuff is bad or wrong, but I could pick up one of my many books on those subjects and read or go for a run, do some weights and even kata, kihon ido and bunkai while I’m at it.

While I’m at it, I’ll be also cutting down on energy costs and greenhouse gases.

Now all to do it choose a day?

Tuesday.

Things I’ve Learnt.

May 30, 2008 by Adam Simeonidis

Having nothing to write about these past few weeks I came across this post on the seedoubleyou about Things that I’ve learned.

So what have I learned since the time I’ve started this blog?

  • People you think you know, can change ever so fast. Especially your family.
  • Karate is truly a way of life.
  • Pesto isn’t that bad after all.
  • Planning can lead to success.
  • Patience is a virtue.
  • When someone says skipping is for girls, I shake my head at them.
  • Material things are impermanent.

and finally thanks to Wade and reading his website themiddleway.net and watching Alan Watts, washing the dishes isn’t so bad after all..
